Support and Motivation from Day One
Understanding the bigger picture
At Mandeville we start by firstly identifying what our consultant’s life goals are: financial, physical environment, heath, personal development, and career. Money plays a big part in many of these goals so we put a plan together what consultants need to achieve at work to make the commission needed and break these goals down into monthly and weekly objectives.
Training & Development
We have a structured training course run by our own Training Manager that all new consultants attend for 2 weeks, following from this each person has a mentor to work with to show them the ropes, and to train them in new business, taking job specs, identifying clients needs, interviewing procedures, matching, writing adverts, admin, etc. All of our training is in line with the REC.
Following from this we provide in house REC training for the CertRP. We are one of only 30 UK recruitment agencies who are accredited to conduct this in-house, a testament to the quality of our training. We also pay for the training and exam for the CertRP, and then sponsor our consultants' first year of REC membership once they pass the exam.
Consultants are also given continued training to progress and develop skills in leadership and management to move them through the various stages from trainee to consultant to senior consultant, when they can then mentor a trainee, then moving into management and then senior management positions.
Team Motivation
Managers often set monthly team incentives and Mandeville run annual competitions to motivate consultants and drive internal rivalry. This year’s incentive will see two of our consultants jet off for an all expenses paid holiday in the Caribbean with a friend or partner.
Clear Progression
Mandeville operate a real meritocracy, where if you achieve levels of performance you will be rewarded accordingly, both in terms of status and money. We don’t promote you at set periods of time, instead whenever you reach a set performance level. This means each employee knows exactly what they have to do to progress, keeping everyone motivated.
The following chart shows how all trainees can progress within the company;
